This is the directorial debut of comedian Jia Ling, who is mostly known for her sketches in the Spring Festival Gala.
Comedian Jia Ling, who also starred in the film, wanted the movie to pay tribute to her late mother who passed away in an accident when she was 19. The plot was inspired by the real-life stories of Jia and her mother.
晓玲回到过去后发现，妈妈如果当时能嫁给条件更好的人，生活会更富足，于是她决定牺牲自己，让妈妈能有更加快乐的生活，但没想到其实妈妈跟她一起穿越回去，并且做了和当年同样的选择，因为女儿才是李焕英最大的财富。
