《The Hare and the Tortoise》
通过龟兔赛跑的故事，告诉学生做事情要明确目标，脚踏实地。
Hare said to Tortoise,"I'm so much bigger and better than you."
兔子对乌龟说：“我比你要大很多，而且比你强很多。”
Tortoise said,“Bigger doesn't always mean better.”
乌龟却说：“越大的不代表就越好。”
They both said,"Let's have a race."
他们俩一致说：“那让我们来比试一下吧。”听到这个消息之后，所有的小动物们都来参看这场比赛 了。
Hare thought he was so much better than Tortoise that he gave him a head start.
兔子认为它比乌龟要好太多了，它给了乌龟一个领先的优势，所以在比赛的开头，兔子让乌龟先跑。
Hare ran past Tortoise. Slow coach!
结果，兔子不一会儿就跑过了乌龟。还嘲笑乌龟说：“迟钝的东西。”
Hare had time to eat. Hare had time to play.
兔子还有时间 吃东西。还有时间玩耍。
Hare had time to snooze... He fell asleep among the cabbages. Tortoise slowly plodded past.
吃完玩儿完之后，兔子还有时间打了个盹。它在卷心菜堆里睡着了。乌龟慢慢地经过了兔子身边。
Whem Hare woke up, Tortoise had almost won!
当兔子醒来的时候，乌龟几乎就要赢了。
Hare hopped fast, but he couldn't catch up.
兔子跳起来跑得飞快，但是它并没有能赶上。
Everyone cheered as Tortoise won. Slow and steady wins the race!
乌龟赢了，大家都欢呼起来。乌龟慢吞吞地说：“稳和慢则会获胜。”
