The melody of Kunming is a love song. Wonderful and affectionate songs are heard all the day in countryside in Kunming.
一个金满斗，十年难再逢。男女老幼，聚集成桌，唱着好听的本地曲子，独唱声婉转悠扬，合唱声若松涛，在微风荡动中舒卷张弛，有龙吟凤哕的意味。
Reunion is always hard. People of different age gather together, and sing local songs in sweet and agreeable tunes, enjoying a cheerful and pleasant life.
自古以诗达意，以歌传情。沈从文《云南歌会》写云南山歌唱法各异，不拘泥形式。唱的多是情歌酬和，也唱对生活的热爱，对恶人的憎愤。
Poems are expressive, and songs are used to convey affections. In “Yunnan Singing Festival” written by Shen Congwen, folk songs of Yunnan are sung in different ways, free and unconstrained. The songs are mostly love songs to show love for life and resent for the evil people.
