Reports say that in the US
there are over 200 private prisons,
with more than 120,000 prisoners inside,
which pay larges sums of money
to the government every year.

他们承包监狱是为了挣大钱
囚犯在里边干活

The private prison owners are not charities.
By doing so they mean to let prisoners
work and make them money.

In order to get more “customers”,
they reportedly even bribe judges
and put innocents into prisons.
