我们生活和工作的每时每刻都离不了电，但是生活中总有难免意外停电的时候，“停电了”英语怎么说呢？
说到“电”我们第一个想到的就是“electricity”，但是生活中更经常用到的是“power”这个词，而停电的停，也不能用“stop”这个词来表示。

这个表达比较正式。
比如小区要通知断电：
There will be a power outage tomorrow.
明天要停电。
power failure
A power failure created an emergency in traffic and transportation.
停电使交通运输陷入紧急状况。
power cut
Power cut 与power failure用法相似，不同点在于Power failure 是非人为因素的停电，可能是因天气，雷电等，造成的停电，或者供电设备故障
power cut是人为的切断电源供应。
Energy companies said a power cut had affected at least a million people across the country.
电力公司说停电至少波及到了全国上下一百万人。
当然类似out of power, blackout的表达也是可以的
We were suddenly out of power.
我们突然停电了。
Suddenly, there was a blackout.
