今天我们一起来辨析一组同义词：basis and foundation。
这两个词都有“基础”的含义，但是二者也有不同之处。
Basis 经常是单数形式出现，在牛津高阶上的定义是：a principle, an idea or a fact that supports sth. and that it can develop from ; 指的是要素，基础。
e.g. The basis of a marriage is trust.
Foundation 可作可数名词，也可作不可数名词；其英文释义和basis是一模一样，但是所指代的“要素”也有所不同。
Foundation is often used to talk about larger or more important things than basis.
e.g. The rumor is totally without foundation.
固定搭配：
on the basis of/that... 在...基础上
on a daily/ regular/ permanent basis 日常， 定期， 永久
form the basis for... 形成...的基点
lay a solid foundation for... 为...建立牢固的基础
without foundation毫无根据
