THE WATERFALL CAVE
第二章 水帘洞
As time passed, the stone monkey learned to leap, run, and climb.
随着时间的推移，石猴学会了跳跃、奔跑和攀爬。
He drank from streams, ate fruit and leaves, and joined others monkeys in the mountain.
他喝小溪里的水，吃水果和树叶，加入了山上的猴群。
They leapt from tree to tree looking for food, and slept under a cliff at night, having great fun.
他们在树林间蹦跳觅食，晚上睡在悬崖下，过得很开心。
One day, as monkeys roamed around the mountain looking for the source of the stream, they came upon a waterfall.
有一天，猴子们在山上闲逛，想寻找溪水的源头，寻到了一个瀑布跟前。
The waterfall was wide with a torrent rushing down the cliff, looked like a flying stream.
瀑布很宽，有一股激流从悬崖上冲下来，形成飞泉。
The monkeys thought it was interesting, but no one dared to go through it, and they said, "If who of us can get through the waterfall to see what is behind it without hurting himself, we'll accept him as our king."
众猴看那瀑布有趣，却不敢上前去游玩，纷纷说道：“谁有本事敢钻进去看看瀑布后面有什么，又不伤了自己身体，我们就尊他为大王！”
"Brothers, I'll go!" When the stone monkey heard this, he answered loudly.
“兄弟们，我去！”石猴听到后，立刻高声应答。
The waterfall was rushing. When he closed eyes and jumped into the water, only to find that there was no water, no wave, but an iron bridge.
瀑布水流湍急，他闭上眼睛，纵身一跃跳入瀑布泉中，才发现里面无水无波，而是一座铁板桥。
The iron bridge led to a cave. The water was hanging upside down, covering the hole.
铁板桥通向一个山洞，瀑布的水倒挂下来，正好遮蔽了洞口。
The cave seemed to be inhabited, with stone tables and chairs, stone bowls and basins, and other furniture.
山洞似有人居住一般，石桌、石椅、石碗、石盆，一应俱全。
A stone tablet beside the bridge reads: "Blessed the flower and fruit mountain, a hidden land in the cave."
桥旁边的石碑上刻有一副对联：“花果山福地，水帘洞洞天。”
"The Waterfall Cave."
“水帘洞！”
The stone monky was delighted. He leaped out and shouted to other monkeys, "Hey, follow me! I found quite a nice living place for us!"
石猴高兴极了，跳出瀑布对猴子们喊道:“嘿，跟我来！我找到了一个极好的住处!”
Other monkeys all followed his example and leapt into the cave.
其他的猴子都模仿石猴的动作，跳入了洞中。
The cave was large enough to accommodate everyone.
这个洞穴足够大，可以容纳整个猴群。
The stone monkey sat on the top and said, "Now I can come and go freely, unharmed, and I have found us a good living place. Why not honor me as your king?"
石猴端坐在上说：“如今我来去自如，毫发无伤，又寻到一块洞天福地，于各位安眠稳睡，怎么还不拜我为王啊？”
No one refused. They all kneeled down and sincerely accepted the stone monkey as their king.
众猴无一不服，于是都磕头下拜，尊石猴为大王。
The brave stone monkey became the Monkey King.
勇敢的石猴成为了美猴王。
