We use WISH and HOPE to express our desires for something we want. In a nutshell, HOPE mainly expresses a desire that is possible or likely to happen. And WISH usually expresses a desire that is impossible or unlikely to happen, so it often attracts the subjunctive.

HOPE is always used to express something positive while WISH is used to express any kind of desires, be it positive or negative. Sentences with HOPE and WISH are usually followed by a noun clause starting with THAT and we often drop THAT.
HOPE常用来表达积极的愿望，而WISH可以用来表达积极的愿望也可表达消极的遗憾。带有HOPE和WISH的句子后面通常跟名词性THAT从句，我们常常省略THAT。
HOPE:
◆ Most frequently, the HOPE sentences are in simple present tense.

◆ For future desires, HOPE usually takes a simple present verb or will base verb:

★ She hopes he passes the test.

◆ We don’t often use HOPE to talk about something in the past. But when we use HOPE to refer to something that has already happened, simple past tense is used because the event is already over:
