The Little Match-Girl 卖火柴的小女孩
That was a Christmas Eve with heavy snow. A little girl was selling matches (火柴) on the street.
那是一个下着鹅毛大雪的平安夜。一个小女孩正在街上卖火柴。
“Matches, matches!” But no one looked at her.
“卖火柴，卖火柴！”但没有人看她。
A few days ago, her parents died.
几天前，她的父母去世了。
She was selling matches without a coat in the cold weather.
她衣衫单薄地在寒冷的天气里卖火柴。
But she didn't sell even one box.
可她一盒都没有卖掉。
The girl was so hungry (饥饿的) that she couldn't even open her mouth.
女孩饿得连嘴巴都张不开了。
Then, a carriage (马车) came close to her slowly.
然后，一辆马车慢慢地靠近她。
Trying to keep away from the carriage, she slipped and fell on the ice, and she lost her shoes.
她努力远离马车，但是在冰上滑倒了，还丢失了她的鞋子。
She had to walk on the snowy street with bare feet.
她不得不光着脚丫在雪地上走。
Over a window, she saw a family gathered under a warm and bright light.
从一扇窗户外，她看到一家人聚集在温暖而明亮的灯光下。
They seemed so happy.
他们看上去很高兴。
The snow began to fall more heavily.
雪开始越下越大了。
“It’s so cold.” Her body was frozen (冻结) hard.
“好冷啊。”她的身体冻得僵硬了。
Even though she was hungry, and felt pain in her feet, she couldn’t go back home because she couldn’t sell any matches.
尽管她很饿，感觉双脚疼痛，但她也不能回家，因为她一盒火柴都没卖出去。
“Matches, you want some matches?”
“卖火柴了，要买火柴吗？”
The people walking on the street looked very happy holding each other’s arms.
散步在街上的人看上去很快乐，互相挽着彼此的胳膊。
But no one bought the girl’s matches.
但却没有一个人买女孩的火柴。
“Ho~” She tried to warm up her hands and feet, but it only made her hungrier.
“嗬~”她试图温暖一下她的手脚，但这样只会让她更饿。
“It’s so cold. Why is it so cold today? I have to skip my meal today because I couldn’t sell any of these matches.”
"太冷了。为什么今天这么冷？我今天不能吃饭了，因为我一根火柴都卖不出。"
She lit a match to warm up her body.
她点燃了一根火柴来让身体暖和些。
Even though it was a small light, it made her a little warmer.
虽然光很微小，但她也觉得温暖了一些。
She felt as if she was sitting right next to a fireplace.
她觉得自己好像就坐在壁炉旁。
“Oh, it’s warm!” She kept lighting matches.
“哦，好暖和！”她不断地点燃着火柴。
Suddenly, a table full of delicious food came up in front of her.
突然，一张摆满了美味食物的桌子出现在她面前。
“Oh, it looks delicious.”
“哦，它看起来好美味啊。”
As she lit another match, a Christmas tree appeared.
当她点燃另一根火柴时，一棵圣诞树出现了。
“How beautiful!”
“好美啊！”
She lit the last match.
她点燃了最后一根火柴。
Then, her grandmother appeared.
然后，她奶奶出现了。
“Sweetie, come to Heaven (天堂) with me.” The girl’s grandmother held her tightly in her arms and rose up to the sky.
“亲爱的，跟我去天堂吧。”女孩的奶奶紧紧地把她搂在臂弯里，升向天空。
The next day, she was dead and found in the street.
第二天，她被人在街上发现时已经死了。
“Poor girl, maybe she tried to warm herself with these matches.”
“可怜的女孩，也许她想用这些火柴取暖。”
People felt pity for the girl and buried her in the ground in the sunlight.
人们为女孩感到惋惜并把她埋在阳光照耀的地方。
