处暑，是二十四节气之第十四个节气，也是秋季的第二个节气。处暑，即为“出暑”，是炎热离开的意思，气温逐步走低的趋势进一步明显。处暑，虽然表示暑气的终结，但民谚说“处暑天还暑，好似秋老虎”，我国不少地区，“秋老虎”依然会持续一段时间。处暑时节是农作物收获的时刻。处暑三候“禾乃登”，“禾”指的是黍、稷、稻、粱类农作物的总称，“登”即成熟的意思，这是五谷丰登的时节。
