But on the edge（边缘） of town, drills were driven out of his mind by something else.
As he sat in the usual morning traffic jam（交通拥堵）, he couldn't help noticing that there seemed to be a lot of strangely（奇怪地） dressed people about. People in cloaks（斗篷）.
Mr. Dursley couldn't bear people who dressed in funny clothes -- the getups（奇装异服） you saw on young people!
He supposed this was some stupid new fashion.
He drummed his fingers on the steering wheel（方向盘） and his eyes fell on a huddle of（一群） these weirdos（怪人） standing quite close by.
They were whispering（低语）excitedly together.
Mr. Dursley was enraged（愤怒的） to see that a couple of them weren't young at all; why, that man had to be older than he was, and wearing an emerald-green（翡翠绿） cloak!
The nerve of him! （真不知羞耻!）But then it struck Mr. Dursley that this was probably some silly stunt（噱头）, these people were obviously（明显地） collecting（募捐） for something... yes, that would be it.
The traffic moved on and a few minutes（分钟） later, Mr. Dursley arrived（抵达） in the Grunnings car park, his mind back on drills.

但快进城时，另一件事又把钻机的事从德思礼先生的脑海里赶走了。当他的车汇入清晨拥堵的车流时，他突然看见路边有一群穿着奇装异服的人。他们都披着斗篷。德思礼先生最看不惯别人穿得怪模怪样，瞧年轻人的那身打扮！他猜想这大概又是一种无聊的新时尚吧。他用手指敲击着方向盘，目光落到了离他最近的一大群“怪物”身上。他们正兴致勃勃，交头接耳。德思礼先生很生气，因为他发现他们中间有一对根本不年轻了，那个男的显得比他年龄还大，竟然还披着一件翡翠绿的斗篷！真不知羞耻！接着，德思礼先生突然想到这些人大概是为什么事募捐吧……不错，就是这么回事。车流移动了，几分钟后德思礼先生来到格朗宁公司的停车场，他的思绪又回到了钻机上。
结束语今天，德思礼先生看到了很多奇怪地场景。先是自家院墙上，研究地图的猫。然后又是，在这一次的文章中，出现在上班路上，穿着奇怪的人。看来今天，对于他来说，真的是不平凡的一天！
