a lot of=lots of 大量很多(可以修饰可数名词也可以修饰不可数名词)
a bit of =a little 有一点(修饰不可数名词)

a population of 数字
a collection of stamps 集邮
a number of 大量、很多(修饰可数名词)

a large quantity of 可数名词复数或不可数名词
large quantities of, masses of, stores of,supplies of, dozens/scores/hundreds/
thousands /tens of thousands /millions of 后加可数名词复数。
9、be of 抽象名词=be 形容词，表示性质、特征(该结构可作表语、补语、后置定语):
be of help =be helpful
be of use =be useful
be of importance =be important
be of interest =be interesting
be of value 价值=be valuable
10、介词of 表示关于，描绘(某人或某物):
a picture of my friend 我朋友的一张照片；a map of China 一张中国地图
hear of. 听说；tell sb of sth (详细告诉)
inform sb of sth 通知
remind sb of sth 使某人想起
warn sb of sth 提醒，警告

11、It is 表示人品的形容词 of sb to do sth.表示“对某人来说做某事……的”。
常用的形容词有:kind善良的，friendly 友好的，stupid /silly /foolish 傻的、愚蠢的，clever 聪明的，wise 英明的，generous 慷慨的，大方的等。
