这种游戏性教学更大的灵活性是，当在做游戏时可以根据孩子的水平调整游戏难度。因为在任何一个班级都有不同水平的孩子，因此在教的时候很难满足低水平的孩子和高水平的孩子，但是通过游戏性的方式可以解决个体的需求的问题。同时它还贯穿整个教学进程。
玩和学习一样重要，当使用游戏性教育时，孩子们也学会了如何更好的玩。在我们每次做游戏时，很好的教会孩子们团队合作精神。对于任何一个年龄段来说，这种课堂教学都相对比较难，我们不仅要会玩而且还要赢。孩子们会变得越来越尊重他们的竞争对手，他们也更喜欢去做游戏。当然，当做游戏时也需要纪律。游戏本身最重要的是，要学会轮流！
最后，游戏式的教学方式也是一种很好的工具，孩子们可以在家里做。尽管他们的英语水平有限，孩子们也可以在家里跟家人一起玩。我可以肯定说在游戏时，他们会希望击败他们的父母。
Game-based learning is great for engaging young learners, and can be incorporated at all levels. A little competition and playfulness can make review exciting! The key advantage of games is their flexibility.
Any classic board game can be converted into an educational one. For instance, when we play the card game “Uno,” the number value of a card corresponds to the number of words with which a student must compose a sentence. Likewise, “Connect Four” becomes educational when a sentence is made before each turn. Even generic board games such as “Snakes and Ladders” can be used with small vocabulary flashcards to review current and previous units. These games provide a space for experimentation with any content, whether identifying short and long vowel sounds or constructing original sentences of varying complexity.
The greater aspect of this flexibility is that when playing games one can dial the difficulty to an individual student’s skill level. In any class there are often varying skill levels, and therefore it can be difficult to teach the kids at the lower end as well as at the very top. Through game play the student’s individual needs can be specifically addressed while also engaging the class as a whole.
As important as playing to learn is, when using educational games children also learn to play. Teaching good sportsmanship and teamwork are key lessons every time we play. It is a difficult lesson for people of any age to learn: that we don’t play only to win. The class becomes more respectful as competitors the more they play. And of course, when there is a need for discipline, the game itself contains an immediate consequence: lose your turn!
Finally, game-based learning is a great tool for students to study at home. Children can play with each other or with an adult, even if they have very different English levels. I’m certain they will love the prospect of defeating a parent!
