6、表示身体的部位:
常搭配的动词有牵拉扯拽抓lead牵 、take 、catch 、grasp 抓、seize 紧抓等，其公式:动词 宾 by the 身体某部位。
Lead an elephant by the nose. 牵着大象鼻子走。
He took the little boy by the hand /arm /wrist 手腕/sleeve 袖子。
seize sb by the hair 抓住某人的头发
7、表示“按……计算”：
by the hour 按小时；by the day 按天
by the week 按周；by the yard 按码
by the ton 按吨；by the dozen 按打
He is paid by the month. 他按月获得工资。
8、表示“经过”：
go by the post office 经过邮局
walk by 路过；pass by. .
9、表示“在……期间”(指时间，尤其表示情况和环境）：
by night, by day, by moonlight,by daylight
10、表示“根据、按照”：
by law 根据法律；jude by 根据……判断
By my watch it is 12 o’clock.
按我的表，现在12点了。
11、表示“至……的程度”：
The bullet missed me by three inches.
那颗子弹以三英寸之差未击中我。
by far 修饰比较级，常放在后边；修饰最高级放在前面。
12、用于习语：
by the way 顺便；by oneself 独自；
by and by 不久；by way of 经过
13、表示“以连续的单位、批量或程度计算”：
day by day 一天天地；little by little 逐步地；bit by bit 逐步地；step by step 逐步地；one by one 一个接一个地
14、表示“长方体、立方体、面积或体积的大小”：
The room measures fifteen feet by twenty feet. 这个房间15英尺宽。20英尺长。
15、用于表示誓词:
