在学习英语的过程中，有很多人对于人际关系的词汇感兴趣，也对动词短语感兴趣，但是这类的短语太多了，这次分享的的12个动词短语中，有的相对基础，有的相对普遍，也有比较高级的，如果在一些像雅思，剑桥高阶考试中使用这些短语，可能会有一个好结果。
ask out
它是可以分开的，如“ask somebody out”，this is to invite someone on a date.就是说“约某人出去”
- For example: he asked me out at a party and we've been inseparable ever since.他约我去一个派对，然后我们就没有再分开过。
take out也是“take somebody out”，This is to take somebody on a date.可译为“带某人去约会”与“ask out”意思相近。
- For example,On our first date, he took me out to a restaurant.我们第一次约会时，他带我去了一家餐厅。
通常带某人出去的那个人就自然要买单了，但如果你不喜欢的话，也是可以split the bill（分担费用）的，这样就没有什么后顾之忧，让人误解啦。lead onSo to lead somebody on is to give them the wrong idea,表示让人误解，让他们觉得还有机会，那么这个关系可能就会发展到别处去。
- For example：when I have no intention of furthering the relationship, I would be leading that person on.如果我没有想继续发展这段关系时，我就可能会误导他。
hook upTo hook up normally means to have more of a casual relationship with somebody.通常表示与某人发生了相对随意的关系了，是一个比较非正式的短语。
- For example： if you say I hooked up with her last night, it probably doesn't mean that it's a serious relationship. It's more of a casual fling.如果你说“我昨晚勾引了她”，这就可能不是一种认真的关系，而是“一时的冲动”
But hey, whatever floats your boat.但是呢，请您随意。
drift apart这个就比较悲伤了，To drift apart means to lose closeness.表示失去了亲密的爱情。主要是用在一段感情，双方慢慢疏远的时候。
- For example：
where someone asks you, "Why did you break up with your ex?"
Uh, we just drifted apart. We went our separate ways.
当有人问你“为什么你和前任分手了”
“哦，我们只是疏远了彼此，走上了分离的道路”
break up \split upThis is when a relationship ends. Finito , done.就是说一段感情到头了，结束了，完蛋了。也可以说“split up "
- For example：We split up last year. He broke up with me because I was too grumpy.我们去年分手了，他和我分开是因为我脾气太暴躁了。
make upSo you break up, and then you make up.你们分手了然后又和好了。
To make up is to get back together.表示和好如初的意思。
- For example：But we made up, and it's been great ever since.但是我们和好了，并且变得比以前更好。
put up withIt means to tolerate.在to put up with 后接某人或某人的行为表示”容忍“
- For example：
So why did you split up?所以你们为什么分手？
I couldn't put up with his snoring.我不能“put up with "他打鼾
I could not tolerate his snoring.我不能容忍他打鼾
cheat onif you cheat on somebody, you are unfaithful to them。如果你“cheat on somebody”就是说你对他不忠诚。
if you are cheated on, he cheated on me。如果你被“cheat on”了，说明他欺骗了你，他对你不忠诚。
Never a nice thing to happen.这绝对不是一个好事情。
You could say that they really messed you around.你也可以说他们是在是“messed you around”。
mess aroundTo mess somebody around to really treat them in a bad way.表示用一种极坏的方式对待某人。
- For example：Maybe one day you say you want to be with them,and then the next day you change your mind,and they're waiting on your every move.也许有一天，你说你想要和他在一起，然后紧接着你又改变了你的想法，而他还在等待着你。
You get their hopes up.You disappoint them again. It's best not to mess anyone around.你让他燃起了希望，又让他再一次失望，所以最好不要怠慢任何人。
settle downthis one is something most of us hope to do one day.这是我们大部分人都希望拥有的。
to settle down means to finally find a stable relationship and stay there and have a more quiet and relaxed life. 意思是最后终于找到了一个稳定的感情，并停留在那里，享受一段安静放松的时光。
- For example：
I hope You find one person that you really like, and hopefully really love, and you settle down with them.我希望你最终能找到一个真心喜欢的人，拥有充满希望的真爱，并且能和他安定下来。
Maybe you start a family, or move in together, get married, whatever. Settling down is normally quite a nice thing to do.
可能你会开始组建家庭，一起搬进新家，并结婚，无论如何，安定下来当然是一件美好的事情。
