英语中，一个定冠词“the”的有无就可以把句子的意思完全改变。我们看下面的几组词语：

8．on earth：究竟
on the earth：在地球上
9．in charge of：掌管，负责
in the charge of：在……负责之下
10.take place：发生，举行
take the place：代替，接替
