THE FIRST JOB IN HEAVEN
第十三章 官封弼马温
Wukong left with the White Planet by cloud, never thought that his Somersault Cloud was much faster. He reached the South Gate first, leaving the White Planet far behind.
太白金星与美猴王一起驾云而行，没想到悟空的筋斗云十分快捷，把金星远远的撇在了后头，率先到达南天门外。
He saw dozens of divine generals guarding the South Gate, with myriad golden light around, which was very magnificent.
只见南天门外，金光万道，有数十员镇天元帅镇守，十分雄伟。
There are thirty-three heavenly palaces and seventy-two holy halls in Heaven, with flowers that never fade and grasses that evergreen.
这天上有三十三座天宫，七十二重宝殿，有千年不谢的名花，万载常青的瑞草。
And you can see golden dragons on the pillars, colorful phoenixes flying over the long bridge, sophisticated corridors and roads everywhere.
柱子上金龙缠绕，长桥上彩凤凌空，复道回廊，处处玲珑剔透。
Exactly: there are all kinds rare treasures in Heaven and nothing like that can be found on Earth.
正是：天宫异物般般有，世上如他件件无。
Wukong was stopped by the gatekeeper at first, which made him angry and refused to go ahead. Fortunately, the White Planet came soon, explained the reason, and persuaded him, "Don't go, don't go! You still go in with me, go in with me!"
守门的天将一开始不让悟空进去，悟空便生气不去了，幸好金星赶来，说明了缘由，又扯着悟空劝道：“别走别走，你还同我进去，同我进去。”
The White Planet led Wukong into the Heavenly Palace, presented him to the Jade Emperor directly, without waiting to a summon. "Your majesty, I've brought the immortal monkey here, according to your order."
太白金星领着美猴王进了灵霄殿，不等宣诏，直接向玉帝启奏：“臣领圣旨，已宣妖仙到了。”
"Yes, please come in. Where is the Monkey? " said the Jade Emperor behind a curtain.
“进来，哪个是妖仙？”玉帝垂帘问道。
"I'm the Monkey King," instead of kneeling down, as everyone else did, Wukong only gestured with his hand in greeting.
悟空躬身答应：“老孙便是！” 他没有像其他人那样跪着，只是用手做了个手势表示问候。
"Kneel down and pay your respects, you dirty ape!" Wukong's behavior scandalized other gods in the court.
“这个野猴，怎么一点礼数也不懂，见了玉帝也不叩拜，该死该死！”众仙们都大惊失色。
"The monkey is new to Heaven and doesn't know court etiquette," said the Jade Emperor, "let's forgive him."
玉帝说：“那孙悟空乃下界妖仙，初来乍到，不知礼数，姑且恕罪吧！”
"What post should be given to the monkey?" added the Jade Emperor, considering to give a minor position.
“授他一个什么官职好呢？”玉帝又问，考虑授予悟空一个小官。
"Your Majesty, we have no vacancies except for a superintendent in the imperial stables," answered the God of WuQu.
此时武曲星君启奏说，天宫里各宫各殿都不缺人，只有御马监还缺个正堂管事。
"Er, do you mean to make him the Stable Minister? " the White Planet mumbled, with some concerns, "Yes, I'm afraid…he won't take it."
“弼马温…他…能接受吗？”太白金星有些担心，悄悄嘟囔道。
"This dirty ape is lucky to have it!" said WuQu with haughty distain.
“一只野猴子，有个官儿做就不错了！还不快谢恩。”武曲星君不屑地说。
"Monkey, do you want to be the Stable Minister?" asked the Jade Emperor.
此时玉帝问道：“孙悟空，那你可愿做个弼马温？”
"So is this a high ranking, extremely high? Is that true? " Wukong pulled the White Planet aside and asked quietly.
“弼马温，这个大官吗？特别大的官？”孙悟空扯着太白金星追问道。
"Yes, yes…, high ranking, extremely high," answered the White Planet hesitately. It's really difficult to explain, he just hope to finish this as soon as possible.
“是是是，大官，特别大的官。”太白金星躲躲闪闪，也不知如何与他解释，盼着快点了却这趟差事。
"Yes, that's just what I want." Wukong replied quickly, regarding this as a high ranking position.
悟空只当那是个大官，连忙答道：“愿意！愿意！”
