Early one morning the wind blew a spider across the field. A thin, silky thread trailed from her body. The spider landed on a fence post near a farm yard…and began to spin a web with her silky thread.
有一天早晨，一阵风把一只蜘蛛吹过了田野。一根细细的丝线从她的身体里拖了出来。蜘蛛着陆在一座农庄旁的栅栏桩上…接着她开始用她的丝线结起了网。
“Neigh! Neigh!” said the horse. “Want to go for a ride?”
The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.
“㖏！㖏！”一匹马走来问：“想去兜风吗？”
蜘蛛正忙着织网，没有回答。
“Moo! Moo!” said the cow. “Want to eat some grass?”
The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.
“哞！哞！”一头牛走来问：“想吃草吗？”
蜘蛛正忙着织网，没有回答。
“Baa! Baa!” said the sheep. “Want to run in the meadow?”
The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.
“咩！咩！”一只绵羊走过来问：“想在草场跑步吗？”
蜘蛛正忙着织网，没有回答。
“Maa! Maa!” said the goat. “Want to jump on the rocks?”
The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.
“嘛！嘛！”一只山羊走过来问：“想在岩石上跳高吗？”
蜘蛛正忙着织网，没有回答。
“Oink! Oink!” said the pig. “Want to roll in the mud?”
The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.
“哼！哼！”一头猪走来问：“在你泥塘里打个滚怎么样？”

“Woof! Woof!” said the dog. “Want to chase a cat?”
The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.
“汪！汪！”一条狗走来问：“一起去追猫玩好吗？”
蜘蛛正忙着织网，没有回答。
“Meow! Meow!” said the cat. “Want to take a nap?”
The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.
“喵！喵！”一只猫走过来问：“想睡个午觉吗？”
蜘蛛正忙着织网，没有回答。
“Quack! Quack!” said the duck. “Want to go for a swim?”
The spider didn’t answer. She had now finished her web.
“嘎！嘎！”一只鸭子走来问：“想不想去游泳呢？”
蜘蛛正忙着织网，没有回答。
“Cock-a-doodle do!” crowed the rooster.“Want to catch a pesky fly?”
And the spider caught the fly in her web…just like that!
“喔喔喔！”一只公鸡来问蜘蛛：“你能捉住那只可恶的苍蝇吗？”
蜘蛛一声不响地爬过去，啊呜一口，就这样逮住了苍蝇。
“Whoo? Whoo?” asked the owl. “Who built this beautiful web?”
The spider didn’t answer. She had fallen asleep.
“呜？呜？”一只猫头鹰飞来，奇怪地问：“是谁编织了这么漂亮的一张网啊？”
蜘蛛没有回答，她已经睡熟了。
It had been a very, very busy day.
这真是好忙好忙的一天啊!
