Across the eastern United States

Across the eastern United States, communities are still recovering from the damage caused by Hurricane Ida. See what some people experienced, from massive flooding to tornadoes, to communities in need of major repair. The death toll from Hurricane Ida rose to 67 across eight U.S. states as of Saturday, according to a report from ABC News.

1.Okay.I got you. If you say Across the eastern United States, yoy mean/you can also say Everywhere in the eadtetn USA,or all over the eastern US.

2.If you say Communities are still recovering from the damage caused by Hurricane Ida,you mean Neighborhoods are helping themselves from the losses of houses, cars or lives as a result of the heavy rainstorms.

3.The death toll from Hurricane Ida rose to 67 means the total number of people who died in the floods.
