mustn’t用在must后面的疑问尾句里。
It must be nice to be a cat, mustn’t it?
做一只猫一定很有意思，是不是？（不能说：… can’t it?）
而must not（尤其在美国英语里）偶尔用来说明有证据表明不是某种情况。

He must have left, mustn’t he?
Some of them must have got out, mustn’t they?

有一读者问：书上讲对must的否定应该用needn’t，但为什么下一句中用mustn’t：

这是两个不同的问题，应分开来谈。
但如must表“必须”时，其否定结构则须用mustn’t，如上述例（1），再如：
We must go now, mustn’t we?

有时用must或need均可。如：
We must work hard, mustn’t we? / needn’t we? 我们要勤奋工作，对吗？
