either, neither这两个词单看都非常简单，但是它们之间很容易混淆，那它们之前到底有哪些区别呢？我们一起看看吧！
①either和neither同属中位限定词
与名词连用时不能和其他限定词同用，如冠词，物主代词或指示代词。
例如：
Is there any hard evidence either way?
不管正反，有什么确凿证据吗？
I acted neither fraudulently nor improperly.
我既未欺诈又未犯法。
②either和neither都只修饰单数可数名词，动词也用单数。
例如：
He either suffocated, or froze to death.
他要么窒息而死，要么冻死了。
Neither answer is correct.
两个答案都不对。
③当either, neither与其他限定词连用时，则使用either of, neither of结构。
例如：
Neither of us forgot about it.
我俩都没忘记它。
I don't know either of these places.
这两个地方我都不知道。
注意：此时动词用单数，不能用复数
neither of后单复数动词都可以
④都可以表达全部否定
例如：
I don't know either of these places.
这两个地方我都不知道。
Neither of us had ever skied.
我们俩谁也没有滑过雪。
不同点：
①侧重点不同
either放句尾，表示两者中一者，
侧重于指两个中的一个。
neither一般与nor搭配，表示两者都不。
侧重于指两个中两个都不
例如：
If it's any consolation, she didn't get the job, either.
不知道这算不算得上安慰，她也没有得到那份工作。
Neither know I, nor care.
我不知道，也不在乎。
②位置含义不同
either用于肯定句中时，表示两者之一，也可以用于句末，表示“也不”
还可以用来表示 “也”的意思，常用在否定句中
neither用于否定句，两者都不
例如：
He neither saw nor heard.
他既没看见，也没听见。
Did you see either of them, Weatherstaff?

③常用搭配
either...or...
或者或者，两者任选其一
连接两个主语时谓语动词和or后的名词一致，因为要用就近原则
He either suffocated, or froze to death.

两者之一，加主语，谓语动词用单数
