Eating Kebabs
吃烤串
Mom: Let's have something different for dinner today.
妈妈：咱们今天晚饭吃点不一样的。
How about kebabs?
烤串怎么样？
Child: Great! Can we try the kebab restaurant near the park?
宝宝：太好啦！咱们能去公园附近那家烤串店吗？
Mom: Okay.
妈妈：好呀。
Child: It smells so good every time I pass by.
宝宝：每次路过都觉得好香。
Mom: Haha, little foodie.
妈妈：哈哈，小馋猫。
英文里没有“馋猫”的对应说法，little foodie是比较接近的翻译，相当于“小吃货”。
Let's go.
咱们走吧。
☀ At the restaurant 在餐厅
Mom: Do you want to sit outside or inside?
妈妈：你想坐外面还是屋里？
Child: Either.
宝宝：都行。
Mom: Let's try the outside where we can enjoy the cool summer breeze.
妈妈：那咱们坐外面吧，可以享受夏日的凉风。
☀ Seated 就座后
Mom: Let's order.
妈妈：咱们点菜吧。
Look at the pictures on the menu and see if there is anything you want to eat.
看看菜单上的图片，看看有没有你想吃的。
Child: I have no idea.
宝宝：我不知道。
Mom: How about we buy a meal deal?
妈妈：咱们团一个套餐吧？
That way we don't have to bother making choices and can also save some money.
这样咱们就不用麻烦做选择了，还能省钱。
Child: Good idea.
宝宝：好主意。
☀ Some dishes served 上了一些菜了
Mom: Let's see, we have shish kebabs, lamb tendon, lamb kidney, beef backstrap, chicken stomach, chicken cartilage, and fish tofu.
妈妈：看看啊，咱们有羊肉串、肉筋、羊腰、板筋、鸡胗、鸡软骨和鱼豆腐。
Child: Fish tofu is my favorite!
宝宝：鱼豆腐是我的最爱！
Mom: Yes, and these shish kebabs without chili powder are also yours since you can't handle spicy food.
妈妈：嗯，这些没放辣椒面的羊肉串也是你的，因为你吃不了辣的。
They only have cumin and salt.
上面只有孜然和盐。
Child: Do we have any drinks?
宝宝：咱们有饮料吗？
Mom: Yes, here's your watermelon juice.
妈妈：是的，这是你的西瓜汁。
The beer is for Daddy and me.
啤酒是爸爸和我的。
Here come the roasted chicken wings, roasted silkworm pupae, roasted corn, and peanuts and edamame.
烤鸡翅、烤蚕蛹、烤玉米和花毛一体来了。
Child: Cool! That's all my favorite foods.
宝宝：太好了！都是我爱吃的。
Thank you, Mom!
谢谢妈妈！
Oh, what's this?
哦，这是什么？
Mom: It's called "Chuan Chuan Xiang" which is skewered food served in a hot pot.
妈妈：这个叫“串串香”，就是把串起来的食物放到小火锅里。
They skewered vegetables, meat, tofu skin, and so forth on bamboo sticks
就是把菜呀、肉呀、豆皮什么的都串在竹签子上，
and put them in this small pot to boil until ready and serve it on the table.
放在这个小锅里煮一煮，好了以后端上桌。
The soup base is bone broth, which is light and very child friendly.
锅底是骨汤的，很清淡，很适合小孩。
Child: That's very interesting.
宝宝：真有意思。
Mom: Be careful not to get burned or stabbed by a skewer.
妈妈：小心别被烫到，别被签子扎到啊。
Child: Okay.
宝宝：好的。
☀ After eating a little bit 吃了一会儿后
Mom: Anything else to add?
妈妈：还加点什么吗？
Child: I want to add some roasted steamed bun slices and enoki mushroom bacon rolls.
宝宝：妈妈，我想加点烤馒头片和培根金针菇卷。
Mom: No problem!
妈妈：没问题！
