你看封面上有什么？
I can see Chip and his friends playing football on the lawn.
Chip和他的朋友们正在草坪上踢足球呢！
What kind of shoes are they wearing?
他们穿着什么样的鞋子呢？
Wilf and Kipper are wearing boots.
Wilf和Kipper都穿着靴子。
Chip is wearing a pair of trainers.
Chip穿着一双运动鞋。
Trainers are shoes that people wear when they run or do other sports.
运动鞋就是人们通常跑步或者做其他运动时穿的鞋子。
One day, Dad was reading newspapers at home.
一天，爸爸在家里看报纸。
Mom was at home too.
妈妈也在家里。
Chip wanted to go out to play.
Chip想要出去玩。
When he opened the door and was ready to go, he found that his shoes were worn out.
当Chip打开门准备走的时候，他发现自己的鞋子破了！
Chip wanted new trainers.
Chip想要一双新的运动鞋。
Mum and Dad took Chip to a store.
爸爸和妈妈带Chip去商店。
Chip wanted to buy a pair of new trainers.
Chip想要买一双新运动鞋。
He tried on many trainers which were green, blue, orange and red.
他试穿了很多双鞋，有绿色的，蓝色的，橙色的和红色的。
Finally, Chip chose the red pair.
最后，Chip选了一双红色运动鞋。
Dad bought a pair of leather shoes for himself too.
爸爸也给自己买了一双新皮鞋。
The leather shoes on this shelf were on sale.
这个架子上的鞋子都在打折。
Chip wore the new trainers and left the store.
Chip穿着他的新运动鞋离开了商店。
He was very satisfied with his new trainers.

Why do you think the shop assistant looked tired?

That’s because Chip tried on too many trainers.

He ran on the lawn happily.

Everyone was waiting for Chip.

Floppy was there too.

They were playing football.

However, the new trainers got muddy.

“Let’s go to another place to play,” said Wilf.

Oh dear! Chip stepped into the water.

The trainers got wet.

Dad saw that Chip and his dog were both wet and muddy.

Why did Chip look so upset?

Because he felt sorry for making the new trainers dirty.
Chip因为把新鞋弄脏了感到抱歉。
Dad went out of the yard.

Oh no!

He didn’t notice that two workers were paving the road with cement.
他没有看到两个工人正在铺水泥路。
Dad stepped on the wet cement with his new shoes!

Dad’s shoes were dirty!

拓展练习（难度略大，适合4岁以上宝宝～）
你知道不同种类的鞋子都怎么说吗？
运动鞋 trainers；拖鞋 slippers
人字拖 flip-flops；凉鞋 sandals
高跟鞋 high-heeled shoes；厚底鞋 platform shoes
皮鞋 leather shoes；靴子 boots
特别提醒1. 每个宝宝的年龄不一样，基础不一样，不需要完全按照以上文本来讲。如果孩子感兴趣，就多说一点，不感兴趣就少说一点，都没问题。
2. 只要孩子理解，或看图能明白，或家长可以用肢体语言或者指物的方式让孩子明白，就不要翻译。
3. 如果实在不能理解，可以适当解释，但不需要字对字翻译。
