offer
1.“提供 ”
常用结构：offer sth. to（for） sb. / sb. sth.
You can offer your help to others but back off if they appear to be offended by your persistence.
你可以向他人提供帮助，然而若他们因你的坚持而感到被冒犯了，那么你还是放弃为好。

Well, we can offer psychological consultation for you.
好的，我们可以为您提供心理咨询。
What we can do is offer them an inducement to join.
我们能做的是提供他们一个加入的动机。
2.“提出／表示 ”
常用结构：offer to do sth.
You can offer to do some jobs around the home, or help him with his work.
你可以提出在家里做一些工作，或者帮助他完成他的工作。
Get them a drink or a coffee, do a chore for them, offer to do an errand, anything they’d appreciate, really.
为人递上一杯饮料或咖啡，做一些零星杂务，为别人提供一份差使等等使人感激的事情。 真的。
Is there something valuable they offer to do for them in exchange?
他为换取他所需要的而提供的东西是否有价值？
3.“索／出价”
常用结构：offer sth. for sth.
He is in a position to offer $825,000 for the bankrupt airline's assets.
他能为这家破产航空公司的资产出价82.5万美元。
They are offering farmers $2.15 a bushel for corn.
他们给农民们出每蒲式尔$2.15的价购买玉米。
offer sb. sth. for (money). /offer sb.money for sth.
We offered him the house for 200,000 yuan. /We offered him 200,000 yuan for the house.
我们向他出（索）价200，000元买（卖）这座房子。
afford
1.“给予，提供；买得起”（常与can/could/be able to 连用）
常用结构：afford sth./ to do sth.
These results afford some references for the design and analysis of complex astigmatic cavities.
这一结果对复杂像散腔的设计与分析提供了很好的依据。
They afford an opportunity to gain an understanding of people.
他们提供这个机会以取得人们的了解。
Those with more years until retirement can afford to put a greater percentage of their assets in the stock market.
那些还有很多年才会退休的人可以负担得起把他们更高的比例的资产放入股市。
2.（正式用语）“供给；给予”。
常用结构：afford sth./ afford sb.sth.
The trees afford a pleasant shade.
这些树提供了令人愉快的树荫。
It will afford me great pleasure to have dinner with you.
跟你一起吃饭我很高兴。
supply
“供给／供应（所需之物）”
常用结构：supply sth. to sb.
We supply power to the five nearby towns.
我们给附近的5个城镇提供电力。
They were arrested for supplying counterfeit medicine to street vendors.
他们因为向街头小贩提供假药而被捕。
supply sb. with sth.
We can supply you with whatever you need.
我们可以提供任何妳需要的东西。
Cows supply us with milk.
母牛供给我们牛奶。
provide
“提供 ”：provide sth. for sb.
The hotel provides a shoe-cleaning service for guests.
该宾馆为客人提供擦鞋服务。
We are here to provide a service for the public.
我们来这里是为公众服务。
We should provide some help for them.
我们应该提供一些帮助他们。
provide sb. with sth.
The project is designed to provide young people with work.
该计划旨在为年轻人提供工作。
They have already provided me with everything I need.
他们已给我提供了所需要的一切。
