这一期的分享咱先来说个小知识，就是“喝汤”在英语中为什么说“eat soup”而不是“drink soup”？既然是喝，为啥不说drink？
其实外国人“喝汤”，更准确地说是“吃汤”，要说“eat soup”才对，因为他们汤都很浓郁，有肉有蔬菜，得用勺子挖着吃。
如果你非要说drink，那就是你端起汤盘直接咕噜咕噜喝下去，不太雅观啊兄dei。（给个小妙招，说have soup就没问题，代表吃又代表喝）。
好了，接下来那我们就来学习下跟soup相关的英语词组吧。
1）Duck soupDuck soup从字面上看就是“鸭汤”嘛，不过呢，它的实际含义是易如反掌的事，相同意思的词组还有a piece of cake。
英语例句：
① - This jar is stuck. Could you open it for me？
- Sure. Duck soup.
- 这个罐头卡住了，你能帮我打开吗？
- 当然，容易滴很。
② Come on，you have been playing the piano for two years，that song is duck soup.
来吧，你都已经弹钢琴两年了，那首歌对你来说易如反掌嘛。
From soup to nuts字面意思是“从汤到坚果”，是指很早以前人们吃饭的时候，第一道菜是汤，最后一道吃点带坚果的甜点。也就是从第一道菜吃到最后一道菜为止。
因此，from soup to nuts是指从头到尾，完完全全地；
类似的词组也可以说from A to Z（依据字母表顺序）或者from start to finish（依据赛车起点和终点）。
英语例句：
① Mary told me the whole story from soup to nuts.
玛丽把这个故事从头到脚全部讲给我听了。
② We should go through the agenda before the meeting，from soup to nuts.
我们应该在会议之前从头到尾彻查一遍会议议程。
In the soup字面上看好像是说“在汤里”，如果这是一锅热汤，而你掉进去了，那滋味可不好受！
看过以前文章的小伙伴估计能猜到了，没错，in the soup同样也是表示处于麻烦或困境中，和in the hot water和in the hot seat一样。
英语例句：
① Adam，we are going to be in the soup if we don't deliver the goods on time.
亚当，如果不准时送货，我们会有很大的麻烦。
② I am really in the soup because I broke my mother’s favorite vase.
我麻烦大了，因为我打破了老妈最喜欢的花瓶。
