基础英语阅读语法讲解 老师的手指,学生的鬼脸
1】My friend Paul will never forget his first chemistry teacher .
我的朋友将永远不会忘记他的第一个化学老师
[讲解:没有时间地点,说法跟汉语一样]
2] He was a little man with thick glasses lively and interesting.
他是一个小男人[我们先读到这里,构成跟汉语一样]
with thick glasses lively and interesting,介词短语在后面,可以用它前面的名词做主语,再造一个句子:
这个小男人带着厚厚的眼镜
lively and interesting,形容词词组在名词后面,也可以以它前面的名词再造一个句子,名词还是little man---他---他充满活力,十分风趣
整句阅读:He was a little man ---He was with thick glasses ---He was lively and interesting.
他是一个小男人---他带着厚厚的眼镜---他十分风趣
我们这样读,速度就非常快,而且就像汉语
3] And his lessons were not easily forggeten.
而且他的课不容易被忘记
结构基本跟汉语一样,注意被动语态的构成[be 过去分词]和意思[被]
4] Paul remembered one of his first lessons from this teacher.
Paul 记得他的第一节课,这一节课就来自这个老师
[更精确的翻译:他记得他很多的第一节课,其中一节就来自这位老师]
---语法考点:one of 后的名词一定是复数
--- from this teacher 也是介词短语,可以再造一个句子
5] After the students were in the chemistry lab, the teacher brought out three bottles.
在那些学生在化学实验室之后,这老师拿出三个瓶子
[没提到时间地点等等,结构跟汉语一样]
6] One was filled with petrol [ˈpetrəl], one with castor and one with vinegar..
有一个装满了汽油,一个装满了蓖麻油,还有一个装着醋
[讲解:后面两句实际上是缩写:one was filled with castor and one was filled with vinegar. 把谓语动词省去,只留介词短语,也构非谓语,或者说是独立结构.理解的时候,再造一个句子就可以了。关键是语法考试时,要明白这独立结构的主语和原来的谓语是什么]
7] "Now watch carefully," said the teacher
那老师说:“现在,认真地看啊”
carefully 副词,修饰watch,放后面。在短文改错中,出题者常常会把这句子写成"Now watch careful," said the teacher
我们必须会改
8] He then filled a cup with some of the petrol,some of the castor and some of the vinegar.
讲解:fill---with 用---装满,填满
然后,他用一些汽油和一些蓖麻油和一些醋装满一个杯子
9] As the students watched him quietly,he mixed the three together.
当学生静静地看着他的时候,他把这三种东西混合在一起
[结构跟汉语几乎一样,注意要用quietly,而不是quiet,这也是考试要考的]
10] After that,he held up one of his fingers and showed it to the class.

[注意,汉语翻译成“给全班看”,英语要说“给全班看它”]
11] He then dipped it into the cup .
他然后蘸它进入那个杯子

12] After a few seconds he took his finger out .

"Now watch,"he said."Remember ,you must do everything as I do ."

讲解:这个句子似乎很好理解,但是语法却是很难的!特别是在考试的时候。
第一:He put a finger in his mouth, tasted it and smiled,表示列举,两个列举A and B;三个列举,AB and C,这是英语句子的最基本的原则,记不住,我们写的东西就不像英语
第二:looking rather pleased,ing结构做非谓语,意思是:并且,所以翻译成;并且看起来很快乐
14] Then he handed the cup around the class of studentds.
然后,他向周围的学生传递那个杯子
15] Each student dipped a finger into the mixture and sucked it .
每一个学生都蘸一个手指进入那个混合物mixture并且用嘴巴吸它一口[suck吮吸]
16] Instead of smiling ,each of them made a face .
他们每一个人不是微笑,而是做一个鬼脸
instead of 最好不要翻译成“代替”,应该翻译成;不是---而是,或者;instead也不要翻译成代替,而是翻译成;相反,算了
17] The mixture tasted terrible.
这混合物味道很恐怖啊
taste味道怎么样,smell 气味怎么样,feel 感到怎么样,look 看起来怎么样,当时这些意思的时候,他们都是连系动词,后面跟形容词,不跟副词。所以,考试的时候一定要注意:你,或者是出题者是否把这句子写成这样了:
The mixture tasted terribly.
如果是,改啊!
18] When the cup was at last returned to the teacher ,he said sadly,"I'm sorry,none of you watched carefully enough .
当那杯子最后回到老师那里,他悲伤地说:
“我很难过啊,你们中没有一个足够认真地观察啊”
讲解:1] He said sadly, 跟上面的句子相反,这里sadly修饰动词说,要用副词,不能用形容词,所以,出题者也许会写成 He said sad 让我们改
19] Yes,I sucked a finger ,but the finger I put into my mouth was not the one I had dipped into the cup .
是的,我吮吸了一个手指,但是那个我放入嘴巴的手指不是那个我蘸入杯子的手指啊
讲解:the finger I put into my mouth不能翻译成 [那个手指我放进嘴巴]--- I put into my mouth等于that/which I put into my mouth,是一个定语从句,翻译成[的]---[那个我放进我嘴巴的],加上手指,就是[那个我放入嘴巴的手指]
同样the one I had dipped into the cup,原句也是
the one [that I had dipped into the cup---我蘸入那个杯子的],加上手指就是[我蘸入那个杯子的手指]
20] It was Paul's first important lesson as a student of chemistry and he never forgot it ."
那就是作为一个学生的时候Paul的第一节重要的化学课并且他永远都不会忘记它
讲解:as a student of chemistry作为一个学生,作为一个学生的时候,是时间,翻译成汉语,要放在动词前面,这样才像汉语。
