adj.比较级 and adj.比较级

“形容词比较级 and 形容词比较级”表达“越来越……”的意思，例如：In spring the weather gets warmer and warmer.

之前讲过，双音节和多音节形容词变比较级的时候需要在前面加more，那么对于这种用法，句型则变成了“more and more 形容词原级”，例如：Our country is becoming more and more beautiful.

the adj.比较级，the adj.比较级

“the 形容词比较级，the 形容词比较级”表达“越……就越……”的意思，例如：The more you eat, the fatter you will be.

adj.比较级表达最高级

形容词比较级可以用以下形式来表达最高级的含义：

1）比较级 than any other 名词单数

例如：Wendy is prettier than any other girl.

2）比较级 than the other 名词复数

例如：Wendy is prettier than the other girls.

3）比较级 than any of the other 名词复数

例如：Wendy is prettier than any of the other girls.

4）比较级 than anybody/anything else

例如：Wendy is prettier than anybody else.

形容词的倍数表达

用形容词表达倍数时，可以使用形容词原级，句型为："be 倍数 as 原级 as"，例如：The room is twice as big as that one.

也可以用形容词比较级，句型为："be 倍数 比较级 than"，例如：Hotdog is five times more expensive than it was last year.
