Double Ninth Festival falls on the 9thday of the 9thlunar month, a day in mid-autumn. The crisp and refreshing fall weather is a perfect time for an outing, and many in China do climb mountains to gaze into the distance and pray for the family. Because of this, it is also named the Mountain Climbing Festival. It is said that the tradition of climbing a mountain on that day dates back to the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220). Many literati in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) created works describing customs of this festival, such as Du Fu's qilu (seven-character eight-line regulated verse) poem titledClimbing High. On the Double Ninth Festival, people usually climb mountains or high towers.
九月初九，正值仲秋时节，秋高气爽，登高祈福，啸咏骋怀，活动筋骨。所以，中国人有重阳登高的习俗，因此重阳节又称登高节。相传此风俗始于东汉，唐代文人很多名篇佳作都是描写重阳节习俗的，比如杜甫的七律《登高》。重阳登高，一般是登高山、登高塔。

Songshan Mountain

The Songshan Mountain Scenic Area was reopened on September 27th. Current attractions include Sanhuang Village, Changzhu Yard, and the Pagoda Forest in the Shaolin Temple; Songyang Academy, Huishan Temple, and Qimuque Taoist Temple in the Songyang Academy Scenic Area; and Zhongyue Temple and the Star Observation Platform in the Zhongyue Temple Scenic Area.

Changshou Mountain is another must-go place for appreciating red leaves. The 1,500-meter-long red leaf corridor was specially built for this purpose. Hills that are green during the summer turn red in autumn. Red leaves hover over the mountain slopes like rosy clouds in the distance. Hike up along the hills, and great views are there waiting for you one after another. Every picture you take records a fabulous autumn scene.

Fuxi Mountain in autumn is gorgeous and colorful. Smoke trees, red maple trees, large-fruit elms, five-cornered maple trees, Chinese flame trees, and forsythia dye the mountain a mix of different colors.

The Zhengzhou Erqi Memorial Tower and Erqi Memorial Hall, having completed renovation, re-opened to the public on October 12th. These days, the Eternal Erqi Spirit Exhibition is being held in the Erqi Memorial Hall. Having nine themes, such as railway construction and the spark and heyday of the revolution, the exhibition revives the century-long history of the CPC and Zhengzhou by covering milestone events, revealing the overwhelming revolutionary momentum in the city during that period.
郑州二七纪念塔、二七纪念堂维修工程已经完工，于10月12日恢复对外开放。当前纪念堂主推“千秋二七陈列展”。展览设置铁路修建、星星之火、革命烈焰等九部分内容，以百年党史和百年郑州史的重大节点及事件为轴线，联动展示了星星之火在郑州这块红色热土上的燎原之势。
The exhibition highlights the inheritance of the Erqi Spirit.
