很久以前就读过小王子的英文版，后来慢慢淡忘了，前一阵子看到了小王子的电影，挺好的，就买来了一本英文版，一开始读就又喜欢上了。来欣赏几个片段，你会爱上读它的。

第一个片段
So I lived my life alone, without anyone that I could really talk to, until I had an accident with my plane in the desert of Sahara six years ago. Something was broken in my engine. And as I had with me neither a mechanic([mə'kænɪk]技工，维修人员) nor any passengers(['pæsndʒɚ]乘客), I set myself to attempt the difficult repairs all alone. It was a question of life or death for me: I had scarcely enough drinking water to last a week. （我就这样孤独地生活着，没有一个人能真正谈得来，直到六年前在撒哈拉沙漠上发生了那次故障。我的发动机里有个东西损坏了。当时由于我既没有带机修师也没有带旅客，我就试图独自完成这个困难的维修工作。对我来说，这是个生与死的问题。我随身带的水只够饮用一个星期）。
1. something was broken in my engine. 我的发动机里有个东西损坏了。 英文中很多被动表达但是汉语翻译出来是主动的意思。这个句子实用性也非常广，可以直接拿来用。 比如说something was broken in my bike. 我自行车出毛病了。

The first night, then, I went to sleep on the sand, a thousand miles from any human habitation. I was more isolated than a shipwrecked sailor on a raft in the middle of the ocean. Thus you can imagine my amazement, at sunrise, when I was awakened by an odd（古怪的） little voice. It said:
“If you please– draw me a sheep!”
“What!”
“Draw me a sheep!”
I jumped to my feet, completely thunderstruck-(['θʌndɚ'strʌk] 遭雷击的,极其震惊的，惊得目瞪口呆的). I blinked my eyes hard. I looked carefully all around me. And I saw a most extraordinary small person, who stood there examining me with great seriousness. （第一天晚上我就睡在这远离人间烟火的大沙漠上。我比大海中伏在小木排上那遭遇船难者还要孤独得多。而在第二天拂晓，当一个奇怪的声音叫醒我的时候，你们可以想到我当时是多么吃惊。一个小小的声音说道：
“请你给我画一只羊，好吗？”
“啊！”
“给我画一只羊…”
我一下子就跳了起来，像是受到雷击一般。我使劲地揉了揉眼睛，仔细地看了看。我看见一个十分奇怪的小家伙严肃地朝我凝眸望着。）
这一段描写的就更好了，一个人孤独的时候可以这样说 I was more isolated than a shipwrecked sailor on a raft in the middle of the ocean。（我比大海中伏在小木排上那遭遇船难者还要孤独得多。）； 当你想表达吃惊震惊的时候又可以这样说you can imagine my amazement , when I heard Lily‘s voice. 也可以这样表达 I jumped to my feet, completely thunderstruck。
还有一个单词口语中非常常见。那就是 What! 什么？啊？说啥嘞？什么事？等等，在不同语境中能表达很多的意思。
