从小到大上课老师在讲完知识点之后都会问我们
“清楚了没?明白了没?”
我们也都会假模假式地回答
“我清楚了”
自然就会把英文对应到
- Are you clear?
- I'm clear.
但“I'm clear.”的正确意思可不能理解成
“我听懂了,我清楚了,我明白了”。
Clear作为形容词是用来形容某事某物是明白的、清楚的,所以“I'm clear (on sth).”其实是表示“我”是一个清楚的我,明白的我。而不是说,某件事对我来说,我是清楚它的,明白它的。
正确的说法应该是
It's clear to me
So, "It's clear to me" means "I have understood what it means" while "I'm clear on that" means "I have made my points clear (so you should have understood)".
所以,“It's clear to me”的意思是“我明白、理解了它的意思”,而“I'm clear on that”的意思其实是“我清楚地表达了我的观点(所以你应该理解)”。
And "I'm clear about that" is ambiguous in meaning for it can mean both "I have made clear what you mean" and "I have made clear what I mean". So I would be recommended to avoid using it.
“I'm clear about that”的意思有点模棱两可,因为这句话既可以表示“我已经明白了你的意思”,也可以表示“我已经把我的意思表达明白了”。所以我建议避免使用它。
