Prelude To Water Melody
——Back to the Jingang Mountains
(Mao Zedong)
(Zhou Kenan)
I’ve long cherished high aspirations
To go back to the Jinggang Mountains
Traveled a thousand miles to look for the old haunt
Which has taken on a new look
Orioles are singing and swallows dancing everywhere
What’s more,there’re gurgling brooks
Roads extending to the high clouds
Across the post Huangyangjie
Precipitous as it is, it’s not difficult to climb
Windstorms are raging
Banners and flags fluttering
This is the world we live in
Thirty eight years have passed
Just in a blink of an eye
Going up to the sky to reach for the moon
Going down to the ocean to catch soft-shelled turtles
Which can be successfully done in talking and laughing
Nothing in the world is difficult to achieve
As long as you’re willing to endeavour
