One day, a billy goat went to cross a bridge.
一天,一只公山羊正要穿过一座桥。
A grumpy troll was waiting.
一只性情暴躁的怪物正在等着他。
"You must bring me a log or you cannot pass," growled the troll.
“你必须带给我一块原木，否则你无法通过，”怪物咆哮道。
"Get it yourself!" snorted the billy goat.
“你自己去得到啊！”公山羊哼着。
Then the troll threw him into the river.
接着怪物将他扔进了河里。
The next day, the billy goat again went to cross the bridge.
第二天，公山羊再一次穿过这座桥。
The grumpy troll was waiting.
那只性情暴躁的怪物在等候着。
"You must bring me a piece of rope or you cannot pass," growled the troll.
“你必须带给我一条绳子，否则你无法通过，”怪物咆哮道。
"Get it yourself!" snorted the billy goat.
“你自己去拿啊！”公山羊哼哼着。
Then the troll threw him into the river.
接着怪物将他扔进了河里。
The following day, the billy goat again went to cross the bridge.
接下来一天，公山羊又一次穿过这座桥。
The grumpy troll was waiting.

"You must bring me a large stone or you cannot pass," growled the troll.
“你必须带给我一块大石头，否则你无法通过，”怪物咆哮道。
The billy goat didn't want to get tossed off the bridge again.
公山羊不想再次从这座桥上被扔出去了。
He asked the troll,"Why do you want all those things?"
他问怪物，“为什么你想要所有那些东西呢？”
"I'm fixing the bridge so it won't fall down,"said the troll.
“我正在修补这座桥，这样它不会倒塌，”怪物说道。
"But no one wants to help me."
“但是没有人想要帮助我。”
"Oh! Why didn't you say so?" laughed the billy goat."I can help you."
“噢！你为什么之前不这么说呢？”公山羊笑道。“我可以帮助你。”
"Great!" said the troll."There are some nice, big stones right down there."
“太棒了！”怪物说。“有一些又好又大的石头就在那儿下面。”
Then he tossed the goat down into the river.
