第一部分 年龄长宽高深度
英语的年龄、长、宽、高、深跟表达跟汉语是一样的：
1] 年龄，说法跟汉语一致：
He is 30 years old
他 30岁大[老]
2] 长、宽、高、深度，跟汉语的说法也是一样的
The house is 12 meters long, 5 meters wide and 3.3 meters high.
这房子 12米长， 5米宽 3.3 米高
3] 深度
The well is 30 meters deep
这水井 30米深
4] 附加，测量某物的度量用动词measure
I measured the height of the ceiling.
我测量了天花板的高度
Mother measured me to see what size of dress I should have.
母亲给我量尺寸，好知道我该穿多大号的衣服。
How do we measure poverty?
我们如何衡量贫困呢?
第二部分：英语重量的表达
1] 轻重的说法：
The box is heavy
这箱子很重
The air in the box is light
那箱子里面的空气很轻。
注意，这里不用weight或者weigh
2] 某物有多重，我们用可以用动词名词weight
The weight of the box is 1 ton and 12 kilograms
这箱子的重量是一吨十二千克
或者：
The box is 1 ton and 12 kilograms in weight
3] 如果用动词weigh，跟汉语表达类似
The little case weighs ten pounds.
这小箱子重10磅。
4] 附加；weigh的其它用法
[1]称量；称…的重量：
I weigh myself on the scales
我在在磅秤上称自己的体重
[2] 估…的重量，估量…的轻重：
I weigh the box in my hand
我用手掂量箱子的重量
[3]称出，量出(常与 out 连用)：
I weigh out 10 pounds of flour.
我称出10磅面粉。
