Cash is the fourth concern.

Unilever is in decent shape. Its debt is moderate, at less than two times ebitda. It notched up €52bn ($58bn) in sales last year.

Most important at a time of a corporate cash crunch, it had €6.1bn in free cashflow.

Like other consumer goods giants Unilever bolstered it over the past decade by being robust with suppliers. It is not alone.

The payables (roughly, what is owed to suppliers) of eight big consumer-goods multinationals, including Unilever, has risen from a median of 9% of sales in the 2000s to 16% last year, in part thanks to longer payment periods.

1、

2、

{'decent':'不错的,得体的'}

{'moderate':'适度的,合理的'}

{'notched':'获得,赢取'}

in decent shape:前景不错

Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization的缩写,即未计利息、税项、折旧及摊销前的利润。

3、

{'crunch':'短缺'}

4、

{'bolstered':'改善,加强'}

{'robust':'强壮的,结实的'}

5、

{'payables':'应付账款'}

{'multinationals':'跨国公司'}
