The Lion is sleeping.
A mouse wakes him up.
He is angry and wants to eat the mouse.
The Mouse says, "Spare me and I will repay you."
The Lion laughs but he lets the Mouse go.
Later, the Lion is caught by hunters.
The Mouse hears him.
He chews the rope and frees him.
逐句分解
The Lion is sleeping.
一只狮子正在睡觉。
The Mouse wakes him up.
老鼠把它吵醒了
He is angry
狮子很愤怒 后果很严重
and wants to eat the Mouse.
于是想吃了老鼠
The Mouse says, "Spare me and I will repay you."
老鼠说：放过我，我会回报你。
The Lion laughs
狮子大笑
but he lets the Mouse go.
不过他还是放走了老鼠。
Later, the Lion is caught by hunters.
不久之后，狮子被猎人抓住了。
hunt = 捕猎
hunter = 猎人
很多动词都能加上er，用来表达做那个动作的人。
比如：
teach = 教
teacher = 教师
The Mouse hears him.
老鼠听见了。
He chews the rope and frees him.
他咬断了绳子，放了狮子。
这个故事的寓意是：
不要小看小人物，因为你永远不知道，哪个小人物能救你一命。
