1.41 As the patterning of consciousness subsides（vi. 减弱，平息；（洪水）退去，（热度）消退；沉下去；坐下）, a transparent（adj. 透明的；易懂的；易识破的） way of seeing, called coalescence（n. 合并，接合，联合；合生；聚结；愈合）, saturates（v. 浸湿，浸透；使…大量吸收或充满某物） consciousness; like a jewel, it reflects equally whatever lies before it-whether subject,object,or act of perceiving（v.领会；看出；察觉；看见）.

当这些意识模式如洪水退去，会出现一条明朗的道路，意识与万物合一，完全浸润在圆满与完整中。意识如同一颗透明的水晶，能直接洞察事物的本质，不掺杂任何主观、个人色彩。

1.42 So long as conceptual or linguistic knowledge(jnana)pervades（vt. 遍及，弥漫；渗透，充满） this transparency（n. 透明；透明度；透明性；透明的东西）, it is called coalescence with thought.

（这条明朗之路又分四个修行阶段）

概念和语言的知识仍充斥在禅修中，这是“有念”的合一（一阶）。

1.43 At the next stage, called coalescence beyond thought, objects cease（v. 停止；终止） to be colored by memory; now formless, only their essential nature shines forth.

然后是“无念”合一，客观事物不再附着个人的记忆和想法，本来的原初显现出来（二阶）。

1.44 In the same way, coalesced contemplation of subtle objects is described as reflective or reflection-free.

进而，禅定深入到精微层面，从有觉察（三阶）到超越觉察（四阶）。

1.45 Subtle objects can be traced（追踪；追溯；查出；描摹） back to their origin in undifferentiated nature.

在这般境界，万物回归到他们无分别的源头——空性。

1.46 These four kinds of samadhi with thought, beyond thought, reflective, reflection-free are called samadhi that bears seeds of latent impressions(karma).

上述这四类三摩地，有念、无念、有觉察、超越觉察，都带有潜在记忆的种子。

1.47 In the lucidity（清楚；清澄；神志清醒；洞察力） of coalesced, reflection-free contemplation, the nature of the self becomes clear.

在清净的合一中，一念不生，超越觉察，真我将会越来越清晰。

1.48 The wisdom(prajna)that arises in that lucidity is unerring.

般若智慧即从清净本性中呈现出来。

1.49 This wisdom(prajna)unlike insights acquired through inference or teachings.

般若智慧不同于通过后天习得或推理出来的见解。

1.50 It generates latent impressions(karma)that prevent the activation（激活） of other impressions.

般若创造新的潜在意识习惯，取代之前的种种习气。

1.51 When even these cease being removed, and the patterning of consciousness is completely stilled, integration bears no further seeds.

当层层习气和意识模式被般若彻底化除时，意识的种子也不再存续。
