两者作定语时的不同之处：
historic是指过去所发生的事情、地点、时间等在历史上有重大意义的、历史上有影响的、历史上著名的、历史悠久的；
historical是指历史上的人物及事件都是真实的、有据可考的，而非虚构的、传说的、现代的；
history置于名词前，表示与“历史教学”相关的含义，如a history book一本历史书。
