Mom: Sweetheart, before we go out today,
妈妈：亲爱的，今天咱们出门之前，
I want to have a little chat with you about staying safe.
我想跟你谈谈安全问题。
Child: Okay Mommy, but what do you mean by safe?
宝宝：好的妈妈，但是你说的安全是什么意思呢？
Mom: Today, I want to talk to you about stranger danger
妈妈：今天我想和你讲一下陌生人的危险性
and prevention from getting lost or kidnapped. 和如何防走丢、防拐。
Here are some very important practices:
以下几点做法非常重要：
never speak to strangers,
不要和陌生人说话，
never go with strangers anywhere,
不要跟陌生人去任何地方，
and never take food from strangers.
不要拿陌生人给的吃的。
Remember, if someone, even someone you know,
记住，如果有人，即使是你认识的人makes you feel uncomfortable让你感到不安，
or asks you to go somewhere without Mommy,
或者让你离开妈妈去别的地方，
shout "NO" as loud as you can.
要大喊“不”，能喊多大声就喊多大声。
If anyone offers you food, you should always say "no"
任何人给你吃的，你都应该拒绝，
or come and ask Mommy first if you can have it.
或者先过来问问妈妈你可不可以要。
Child: Why?
宝宝：为什么呢？
Mom: There are bad people out there who kidnap children,
妈妈：有坏人专门拐骗小孩，
taking them away from their mommies and daddies.
把他们从爸爸妈妈身边带走。
I would never let you be taken away from me.
我绝对不会让人把你从我身边带走。
Child: That sounds scary!
宝宝：听起来好吓人！
What if I get lost and I can't find you?
如果我走丢了，找不到你该怎么办呢？
Mom: That is a good question.
妈妈：这是个好问题。
If you get lost, you should stay where you are or find the closest safe space
如果你走丢了，你应该原地不动，或者找个最近的安全的地方，
and I will always come back and find you.
我一定会回来找你的。
If you move, I won't know where to look.
如果你动地儿了，我就不知道去哪找了。
If you stay in the same spot, I can retrace my steps and find you.
如果你呆在原地不动，我能顺着走过的路找到你。
Child: Okay, I will.
宝宝：好的，我会的。
Mom: You can also try shouting my name
妈妈：你还可以喊我的名字，
and I might hear you and be able to find you.
或许我能听见，也能找到你。
Remember, shout my name, instead of "Mommy"
记住，喊我的名字，而不是“妈妈”，
because it's hard to tell your voice from other children's in a noisy public place,
因为在嘈杂的公共场所很难分清你和其他孩子的声音，
and people are the most attentive to their personal names.
而且人们最容易注意到自己的名字。
Child: Okay, I see.
宝宝：好的，我明白了。
Mom: You should know Mommy's full name and phone number
妈妈：你得知道我的全名和电话号码，
so you can ask a safe adult to call me.
这样你可以找个可靠的大人给我打电话。
Child: What is a safe adult?
宝宝：什么是可靠的大人呢？
Mom: Another good question.
妈妈：这也是个好问题。
A safe adult is someone in a uniform like a police officer,
可靠的大人指穿着制服的人，比如警察，
or a safe adult could be another mommy
可靠的大人还可以是其他妈妈，
or a lady in a shop who has a name tag.
或者商店里带着姓名牌的阿姨。
Child: I'm less scared now.
宝宝：我现在没那么害怕了。
Mom: Yeah, if you have any questions, ask me anytime.
妈妈：嗯，如果你有任何问题，随时问我。
Now we can go.
现在咱们可以走了。
Make sure to stay close to me.
要离我近一些哦。
Child: Sure, I love you, Mommy, and I want to be as close as possible to you.
宝宝：当然，我爱妈妈，我想离妈妈越近越好。
