Each other 是一个非常友好的代词，因为它不是接在动词后面作宾语，就是接在介词后面作宾语，意为“互相”，然而它有点让人辗转反侧的是它的所有格形式，到底是 each other's 还是 each others' 呢？
首先打消你失眠的根源，each other 的所有格形式是 each other's，而不是 each others'，也没有其他第二种的选择了，这样是不是可以睡个好觉了。
我们知道，在名词的所有格变化规则中，一般情况下是在单数名词后面加“'s”，当遇到复数名词时，一般是在复数名词后面加“s”，比如 these teachers' books，而不是 these teachers's books，而 each other 中的 each 是“单个”的典型表现，因为只有在犯错的情况下才会有人说 each teachers。
现在来看一些 each 和 each other 的例句：
Each product has a number for easy identification.
每件产品都有号码以便于识别。
Each person was given set jobs to do.
分配给每个人的工作都是预先确定好的。
Nathan and Susie really loved each other.
内森和苏西确实相亲相爱。
They looked at each other and laughed.
他们彼此看了看便笑了起来。
那么 each 修饰的 other 八九不离十只能是单数，那么一切就都浮出水面了，each other 的所有格形式是在它后面加“'s” 变成 each other's，那么现在又冒出了一个问题，它后面的名词是用单数还是复数呢？比如是 each other's book 还是 each other's books？
为了避免深度失眠，首先可以确定的是 each other's book 和 each other's books 都可以，因为 each other 的基本意思是“互相”，相当于 （mutually）the other person's，那么我们肯定不会违背良心说 the other person's faces，除非这个人有两张脸。
然而，each other's faces 也非常常见，我们不能一棍子打死说它是错的，所以总结一下就是：
我们看到了对方的脸。
We saw each other’s face. (正确且符合逻辑)
We saw each other’s faces. (正确且常用)
我们可以相互换着衣服穿。
We can wear each other's clothes.
注意此句中的 clothes 只有复数形式，这也让我们在 each other 的用法上少操点心。当然话说回来，如果 each other's 后面接的是不可数名词，那我们绝对不能逼它们成为可数名词，例如：
They clinked glasses and drank to each other's health.
他们碰杯互祝身体健康。
If you mark each other's work, they don't mark you down because then you can mark them down.
如果大家互相批改作业，别人便不会给你扣分，因为你随后也能给他们扣分。
