Pattern有花纹、图案的意思，今天我们看看它的另一个重要意思：规律。

规律
A pattern is something that repeats in a logical way.
规律就是事物以某种逻辑形式重复出现。
Do you notice the pattern of the apples?
你发现苹果的规律了吗？
One red, one green, and red again and then green.
一红一绿，再一个红的，然后又是绿的。
That is a pattern! The colors alternate.
这就是规律！颜色是交替出现的。
What do you think the next apple will be, red or green?
你觉得下一个苹果是红的还是绿的呢？
The second row also has a pattern using triangles and squares.
第二行的三角和方块，也有规律。

A square and a triangle. Then another square and another triangle.
一个方块、一个三角，然后又是一个方块跟一个三角。
That is the pattern: First a square, then a triangle.
那就是规律啦：先方块、后三角。
