济宁境内有全国重点文物保护单位41处、各类文化遗存7000多处。孔府、孔庙、孔林和京杭大运河是世界文化遗产。建成工程机械、生物医药、纺织服装、专用汽车等多个国家级产业基地和创新创业平台，是国家创新型试点城市、山东省三大人才改革试验区之一。

In2021, the city's GDP reached 507 billion yuan with an increase of 8.5%.
There are 41 national key cultural relics protection units and more than 7,000 cultural relics in Jining. Confucian Mansion, Confucian Temple, Confucian Cemetery and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal are world cultural heritages. A number of national-level industrial bases and innovation platforms have been built here, including engineering machinery, biomedicine, textiles and clothing, and special-purpose vehicles. It's also a national innovative pilot city and one of the three talent reform pilot zones in Shandong Province.
