《金刚狼3》是一部非典型的X战警系列电影，主创们多次强调，这不是一部超级英雄电影，而是一部刻画人物情感的电影。
这是是狼叔休·杰克曼最后一次出演金刚狼，而休·杰克曼饰演金刚狼这一角色已经17年，影片中“英雄迟暮”的主题刻画的并非只有Logan，还有荧幕外的休·杰克曼。
全篇最感人的一幕或许就是小金刚狼Laura在墓前念出《原野奇侠》的经典台词：
“Joey, there's no living with a killing.
乔伊，杀戮的人生无法长久。
There's no going back from it.
你没有后路可回头。

There's no going back.这是一句很常用的英文习语，意思是无路可退，不能回头，也可以对应中文“开弓没有回头箭”的意思。
eg. You must think it repeatedly before you make the decision, because there is no going back.
你在做此决定之前必须再三考虑，因为开弓没有回头箭。
Live in the present, no regretting on the past; there is no going back.
活在当下，不悔既往；岁月无可回头。
“在历史上，我们所熟知的超级英雄，蝙蝠侠有9位，超人10位，蜘蛛侠3位，007也有6位，但金刚狼是唯一的。在此之前，休·杰克曼饰演的是金刚狼；在此之后，所有的金刚狼都将会是在饰演休·杰克曼。”
