Riding a Scooter
骑滑板车
Mom: It's such a great day – perfect for being outside.
妈妈：今天天气真好——非常适合户外活动。
Let me show you how to ride the scooter.
我来教你怎么骑滑板车。
Child: Cool.
宝宝：太好了。
☀ Outside 在户外
Mom: Do what I do.
妈妈：跟着我做。
Hold on to the handles,
双手握住把，
put one foot onto the deck,
一只脚放在踏板上，
and use the other foot to kick or push off from the ground.
另一只脚蹬地。
Use your foot and leg together so it's a strong push.
脚和腿一起用力，这样力量才大。
When you gain enough speed, you can put both feet on the deck, one behind the other.
起了足够的速度以后，你可以把两只脚都放在踏板上，一前一后。

Child: Like this?
宝宝：像这样吗？
Mom: Yes, exactly like that.
妈妈：是的，就是这样。
To be safe, you can put one foot on the deck and the other next to the brake.
安全起见，你可以一只脚放在踏板上，另一只放在刹车旁边。
That way you can be ready to use it when you need to stop.
这样你就可以随时准备好停车了。
Child: Where is the brake?
宝宝：刹车在哪里啊？
Mom: Good question.
妈妈：好问题。
It's the raised part over the wheel on the back.
就是后轱辘那儿高出来的那块。
If you want to stop, use your foot to step on it.
如果你想停下来，就用脚踩它。
Child: Got it.
宝宝：知道了。
Mom, I'm a bit scared.
妈妈，我有点害怕。
Mom: Don't worry, just look ahead.
妈妈：没事的，往前看就行。
Don't look down.
别往下看。
Good.

Child: How do I change directions?
宝宝：我怎么改变方向啊？
I don't want to go straight all the time.
我不想一直直着走。
Mom: If you lean to the left, the scooter will go left.
妈妈：如果你身体向左倾斜，滑板车就会向左走。
Lean if you just want a little bit of a turn,
如果你想微调方向，就倾斜身体，
but if you need to make a sharp turn, turn the handle, which will turn the wheel.
但是如果你需要急转弯，就拐把，这样轮子也会跟着转的。
Turn the handle to the right.
向右拐把。
We want to turn right.
我们右转。

Child: I think I'm going too slow.
宝宝：我觉得我骑得太慢了。
What should I do?

Mom: You can kick more and kick harder.
