今天的片段来自美剧《摩登家庭》(Modern Family)。
Mitchell心心念念要看的Lady Gaga演唱会终于到来了，结果Cam却忽然生病。Mitchell是不情不愿地留下来照顾男朋友还是悄悄去看演唱会呢？
这一段里Mitchell据理力争，表示看Lady Gaga是自己少有的“gay cliché”之一。
所谓的“gay cliché”就是“同志群体的俗套”。
像Lady Gaga就属于同志届的女神，喜欢她的男孩子多多少少都被疑问“应该是gay吧？”
cliché和我们之前提到过的stereotype类似，都是对特定人群的一种偏见，可以是好的，也可以是不好的。
比如在西方语境里，亚洲人的cliché好的有“数学好”，坏的就有“都是书呆子”。
gay cliché也一样，有些可能还挺有意思的，比如说男同志们都爱干净爱漂亮，一个个都是精致的男孩子。有些当然就有点恶意了，比如男同志们都是娘娘腔之类的。
虽然某种程度上，“刻板印象”确实有点道理，但是每一个人都是不同的个体，用cliché的标签去套任何人都是缺乏尊重的表现。
然后本段里Mitchell还提到了一句“in sickness and in health”，就是“无论他健康与否都要相伴下去”，差不多就是中文常用结婚誓词里的“患难与共”。
英语的结婚誓词也是有模板的，最典型的就是这种：
… from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.
“从今往后，无论是好与不好、富有或贫穷、疾病还是健康，都会去爱去珍惜，至死不渝。”
