英语里很多单词表面上看起来是一个意思，一旦它和其它的词组合到一起成了一些惯用表达，就不再是你知道的那个意思了。我们大家都知道skin是皮肤，bone是骨头，那在一些惯用表达中他们是什么意思呢？
Bone idle –懒惰，例句：He never does anything; he’s just bone idle.他从不做任何事情；他只是懒。
Bone up –学习。例句：I need to bone up on history before the final exam.我需要在期末考试前复习历史。
By the skin of your teeth–几乎没有，例句：I caught the cab by the skin of my teeth. It was about to pull away.我差点没赶上正要开走的出租车。
Close to the bone –冒犯性的、痛苦的或个人的，例句：I get a bit uncomfortable with Bob, because his comments are always close to the bone. Bob的评论总是具有冒犯性，让我觉得和他相处很不舒服。
Get under your skin –刺激或惹恼，例句：He is one of the most irritating people I know. He really gets under my skin. 他是我认识的最烦人的人之一。他真的让我很生气。
Have a bone to pick–有抱怨，例句：I have a bone to pick with you. You gave me the wrong directions to the concert and I missed the start. 我需要跟你抱怨一下，你给我的演唱会方向错了，我错过了开头。
Jump out of your skin –感到震惊或惊讶，例句：When the serial killer appeared in the movie, I jumped out of my skin. 当连环杀手出现在电影中时，我吓了一跳。
Make no bones –坦率地说，例句：I make no bones about saying that the movie was terrible.我毫不掩饰地说这部电影很糟糕。
No skin off my nose–这对我来说并不重要，例句：It’s no skin off my nose if you’d rather be alone. 如果你宁愿一个人呆着，我不介意。
Save your skin –远离危险或不愉快的情况，例句：The soldiers started to fire but I managed to save my skin by hiding in the bushes.士兵开始开火，但我设法躲在灌木丛中。）

The bare bones–轮廓，例句：The professor gave the students the bare bones of the topic and told them to read up on the rest.教授向学生介绍了该主题的基本内容，并告诉他们阅读其余部分。
Work your fingers to the bone–努力工作，例句：While you went to the party, I worked my fingers to the bone tidying up the house.当你去参加聚会时，我正忙着收拾屋子。
