一闪一闪亮晶晶，满天都是小星星…《小星星》这首歌差不多是最广为人知的儿歌了，很多人看见歌词，估计就忍不住跟着唱起来了。
这是一首相当古老的歌曲，歌词来自于一首名叫《星》（"The Star"）的小诗，作者是简.泰勒（Jane Tylor）。《星》是简和她的妹妹安一起在1806年出版的儿童诗集《童谣》中的一首。作为歌词，它是在1838年出版的《学唱：旋律第一课》（The Singing Master: First Class Tune Book）中第一次出现。

在《爱丽丝漫游奇境》第七章出现过致敬这首小诗的片段，疯帽子先生说他唱过：一闪一闪小蝙蝠…爱丽丝说她听过一首很相似的歌。
《小星星》的曲子比歌词更加古老。在莫扎特的1781年的《小星星变奏曲》中就出现了这段旋律。海顿，巴赫，李斯特等作曲家的作品中都出现过这段旋律。不过，更早的来源是一首法国童谣《啊！我要告诉你妈妈》，这首歌出版于1761年，最早可追溯到1740年，作者已经无从考据。
