The movie I want to talk about today is “The Mermaid”, which is directed by Stephen Chou. The movie was released on 8th, Feb,2016. The movie is about a romantic story between the human and the mermaid. A billionaire named Liu Xuan decided to start a reclamation work in order to develop his real estate industry. However, his plan threatened the lives of people near the sea and destructed the marine ecological environment, so the mermaids were forced to live under a broken ship. In order to win their homes back, one of the mermaids named Shan Shan was sent to kill Liu Xuan, during which she fell in love with him.
At the end of the movie, Liu Xuan gave up his plan of reclamation work and lived happily with the mermaid Shan Shan. I watched this movie with my good friends and I was deeply impressed by it. The reason why I want to watch this movie is that I think this movie has its ecological and educational meaning. In the movie, the mermaid Shan Shan said that if we were living in the world without any clear water and clean air, it would be meaningless to the human being no matter how much money they earned.
