pass,past两词长得很是相像，并且都有“过”这一汉语意——有些同学使用的时候总是容易混淆，今天我们来系统地分析一下这两个词具有相近意思时的区分。
从常用汉语意思及词性上来区分：
pass ：词性：动词（v.）有且只有一种词性。
汉语意思：
1、传递：
pass me the book
递给我那本书。
2、通过、走过：
She passed me even without saying hello.
她从我身边走过，没和我打招呼。
3、通过 ：
He didn't pass the exam.
他没有通过考试。
4、（时间）推移、逝去：
Three days has passed since he left here.
自从他离开这儿三天已经过去了。
past：词性比较多，不是动词。
1、adj(形容词）：过去的，昔日的
in past years 在过去的岁月
2、adv.(副词）：穿过
I stopped him when he ran past.
当他跑过去时我拦住了他。
3、adv.(副词）：时间过去、逝去
A week went past and nothing had changed.
一个星期过去了，情况毫无变化。
4、prep.(介词)： 晚于，在……之后
She arrived here ten past ten.
她十点十分到这儿的。
5、prep.(介词) ：经过，过
He hurried past them without stopping.
他匆忙地从他们身边经过，没有停下。
6、n.（名词）：过去
the distant past 遥远的过去
7、n.（名词）：某人过去的经历或事业
We know nothing about his past.
我们对他的过去一无所知。
小贴士：
1、pass=go/run/drive/walk past。
2、短语during the past three days 也可以说成in the last three days。
解题技巧：
判断所需使用词在句中所充当成分，如果是作谓语（主语发出的动作），别无选择，使用pass。
如果不是作谓语，使用past。
二者是非此即彼的关系，不能同时使用。
其实总结起来就是：谓语pass非谓past
如：
Whenever she _______ the shop,she couldn't help stopping to look at the shoes that she liked very much.
she 是主语，发出的动作是“经过”，做谓语，所以要用动词，填 passed
再如：
I still remember the _______ wonderful days.
I 是主语，remember是谓语，那么需要填的词就不是谓语了，填past。
