不止有go south, 还有go north
意思跟方向没有关系。

Go/head south
英文中朝某个地方去除了go
还可以用head
所以有:
go south & head south
go/head south是俚语，关于它的出处有很多说法，推荐一个比较好理解的说法：
go south往南方走，方向是朝下走(down)
而“down"是带消极的含义的，
就像中文里的“走下坡路“。

走下坡路，下滑（尤其指财政，股市方面）
-The company s stock went south just after it went public.
公司股市在上市后出现下滑。

与go/head south相反，
go/head north意思是：
成功，上涨
-The pork price went north this year.
今年的猪肉价格上涨了。
-I hope the talk will go north this time.
