大家好！毛毛又来给大家推荐英文绘本了！
要是有熟悉毛毛的，大概知道，毛毛不仅喜欢绘本，而且还是个动画片迷。
今天以及接下来的两周，毛毛将为大家推荐的绘本，都是毛毛因为先看了绘本改编的动画短片，而后爱上了的经典绘本！
将绘本改编成动画片，搬上大荧幕，并不是罕见的事儿。然而，下面这几本绘本的改编都有些相似的特征：
1. 十分尊重原著
2. 篇幅短，不超过半小时
3. 对白几乎与绘本无异。
毛毛看过并且觉得非常好的绘本及改编动画短片（其中好几部是同一团队完成）有：
《Lost and Found》（《远在天边》2008年动画短片）
《The Gruffalo》（《咕噜牛》2009年动画短片）
《The Gruffalo's Child》（《咕噜牛的孩子》2011年动画短片）
《Room on the Broom》（《扫帚上的家》2012年动画短片）

《We are Going on a Bear Hunt》（《我们一起去猎熊》2016年动画短片）
《The Highway Rat》（《侠盗鼠》2017年动画短片）

今天毛毛要为大家介绍的是《Room on the Broom》(《扫帚上的家》)。
在东方人的思想里，巫师通常都带点暗黑属性。然而在西方思想中，不论女巫师（Witch）还是男巫师（Wizard），都是一种神秘职业，不乏善良可爱型的。
今天咱们将要会会的，便是一位善良可爱有点粗心却也很有本事的女巫。
而提到女巫自然是不能少了必杀神器：扫帚了！虽然不是哈里.波特的光轮两千，不过今天故事中的扫帚可是像家一样温暖而包容哦！
接下来咱们一起看故事吧！
今天毛毛就不提供朗读音频了，想听故事对白的，可以自己在网上搜一下书名，查看改编动画片。

The witch had a cat and a very tall hat, and long ginger hair which she wore in a plait. How the cat purred and how the witch grinned, as they sat on their broomstick and flew through the wind. But how the witch wailed and how the cat spat, when the wind blew so wildly it blew off the hat.
戴着高帽的女巫和她的爱猫一起坐着扫帚飞，飞得正高兴的时候，帽子掉了！
"Down!" cried the witch, and they flew to the ground. They searched for the hat but no hat could be found. Then out of the bushes on thundering paws there bounded a dog with the hat in his jaws.
He dropped it politely, then eagerly said (as the witch pulled the hat firmly down on her head), "I am a dog, as keen as can be. Is there room on the broom for a dog like me?"
"Yes!" cried the witch, and the dog clambered on. The witch tapped the broomstick and whoosh! they were gone.
女巫和爱猫赶紧下去找，结果啥也没找到，却被一只狗狗给叼了出来。同时，狗狗非常卑微的请求女巫，“我也能坐到你的扫帚上吗？”善良的女巫自然是答应了。然后他们一起飞走了！
Over the fields and the forests they flew. The dog wagged his tail and the stormy wind blew. The witch laughed aloud and held onto her hat, but away blew the bow from her long ginger plait.
飞过田野飞过树林，风好大，女巫握紧了帽子，结果辫子上的蝴蝶结却又吹掉了下去。
"Down!" cried the witch, and they flew to the ground. They searched for the bow but no bow could be found. Then out from the tree, with an ear-splitting shriek, there flapped a green bird with the bow in her beak. She dropped it politely and bent her head low,
Then said (as the witch tied her plait in a bow), "I am a bird, as green as can be. Is there room on the broom for a bird like me?"
"Yes!" cried the witch, so the bird flattered on. The witch tapped the broomstick and whoosh! they were gone.
女巫、爱猫和狗狗赶紧下去找，结果啥也没找到，却被一只飞来的绿鸟衔了过来。同时，绿鸟非常卑微的请求女巫，“我也能坐到你的扫帚上吗？”善良的女巫自然是答应了。然后他们一起飞走了！
Over the reeds and rivers they flew. The birds shrieked with glee and the stormy wind blew. They shot through the sky to the back of beyond. The witch clutched her bow but let go of her wand. "Down!" cried the witch, and they flew to the ground. They searched for the wand but no wand could be found.
飞过芦苇荡飞过河流，鸟儿尖啸，可是风好大。女巫抓紧了蝴蝶结，结果魔法棒却又吹掉了下去。女巫、爱猫、狗狗和绿鸟赶紧下去找，结果啥也没找到。
Then all of a sudden from out of a pond leapt a dripping wet frog with the dripping wet wand. He dropped it politely, then said with a croak (as the witch dried the wand on a fold of her cloak) "I am a frog, as clean as can be. Is there room on the broom for a frog like me?"
"Yes!" cried the witch, so the frog bounded on.
The witch tapped the broomstick and whoosh! they were gone.
Over the moors and the mountains they flew. The frog jumped for joy and ...
突然池塘中的青蛙带着魔法棒湿漉漉地蹦上来了。同时，青蛙非常卑微的请求女巫，“我也能坐到你的扫帚上吗？”善良的女巫自然是答应了。然后他们一起飞走了！他们飞过沼泽飞过高山，青蛙一高兴一跺脚，结果。。。
...THE BROOM SNAPPED IN TWO!
Down fell the cat and the dog and the frog. Down they went tumbling into a bog. The witch's half broomstick flew into a cloud, and the witch heard a roar that was scary and loud...
扫帚断成了两半儿！
爱猫掉下去了、狗狗掉下去了、青蛙也掉下去了。。。他们一起滚落到了泥塘里。而女巫则坐着剩下的一半扫帚飞进了云彩中，传来了一阵可怕的吼叫声。。。
"I am a dragon, as mean as can be, and I'm planning to have WITCH AND CHIPS for my tea!"
"No!" cried the witch, flying higher and higher. The dragon flew after her, breathing out fire.
"Help!" cried the witch, flying down to the ground. She looked all around but no help could be found.
The dragon drew nearer, and licking his lips, said "Maybe this once I'll have witch without chips."
原来是吃女巫的大龙，一边喷火一边追女巫，誓要把她当点心！女巫大叫求助！
But just as he planned to begin on his feast, from out of a ditch rose a horrible beast. It was tall, dark and sticky, and feathered and furred. It had four frightful heads, it had wings like a bird. And its terrible voice, when it started to speak, was a yowl and a growl and a croak and a shriek. It dripped and it squelched as it strode from the ditch, and it said to the dragon, "Buzz off! - THAT'S MY WITCH!"
正当火龙想要饱餐一顿的时候，泥塘中站起来一只巨大的四头怪，发出似猫似似鸟似狗似青蛙的声音说着：“你给我走开，这只女巫是我的！”
The dragon drew back and he started to shake. "I'm sorry!" he spluttered. "I made a mistake. It's nice to have met you, but now I must fly." And he spread out his wings and was off through the sky. Then down flew the bird and down jumped and the frog. Down climbed the cat, and "Phew!" said the dog. And, "Thank you, oh, thank you!" the grateful witch cried. "Without you I'd be in that dragon's inside."
火龙瞬间怂了，道了个小歉就逃也似的飞过了。这时，猫、狗、鸟、青蛙纷纷跳了下来，原来怪兽是他们假扮的，女巫感激极了！
Then she filled up her cauldron and said with a grin, "Find something, everyone, throw something in!" So the frog found a lily, the cat found a cone, the bird found a twig and the dog found a bone.
They threw them all in and the witch stirred them well, and while she was stiring she muttered a spell. "Iggety, ziggety, zaggety, ZOOM!" Then out rose...
女巫高兴地叫大家在手边捡些东西丢进魔法锅里，青蛙找到一朵百合，猫找来一个松果，鸟找到一根树枝，狗找来一根骨头。然后女巫默念咒语“@#￥@……￥#&”。。。哒！哒！
...A TRULY MAGNIFICENT BROOM! With seats for the witch and the cat and the dog, a nest for the bird and a shower for the frog.
"Yes!" cried the witch, and they all clambered on. The witch tapped to the broomstick and whoosh! they were gone.
一个全新的豪华版扫帚横空出世了！上面有女巫、猫、狗的座位，有鸟的巢，有青蛙的浴缸。
“上去吧！”女巫一声令下，所有成员都坐上了全新的扫帚。。。嗖的一声出发了！

一说到“家”，就会让人联想到温暖、包容、相亲相爱等词汇。虽然这本故事的书名中，并没有“家”这个单词，而是以“Room”展示了家的属性。可这丝毫不影响我们去体味绘本中透露出的浓浓的相亲相爱的感情。
当然，这些“家人”最初刚刚聚集起来的时候，似乎并不是那么甘愿。毕竟，新来的成员要占用原本成员的空间（Room）。
然而，当它们共同面对了危险而可怕的敌人、并且齐心合力地用智慧战胜了它的时候，这个家的属性就彻彻底底地完整了。
虽然这构成它们的“家”的扫帚断裂了，可是它断不了他们紧紧相依的患难之情。
因而，最美好的结局，莫过于，在失去一切之后，重新获得的，是更加完美的、舒适的家 - 超级豪华版扫帚！
这本故事书的绘画是德国插图作者Axel Scheffler完成。
画面色彩丰富、特征突出。甚至每一个小动物的小表情都刻画得入木三分，让人产生无限的遐想。而其相应的动画片也是由这位作者描绘完成的。所以我们可以看到动画片中的形象是无比尊重原著的！
而更加出众的，是这本书的对白。作者Julia Donaldson是一位英国绘本作家。经历丰富、爱好广泛。文章开头毛毛介绍的几本书中有好几本都是这位作者的杰作。
故事中每一个新成员的加入，都有一段结构类似的旁白和对白，并且用押韵的几个词分别巧妙地诠释了几种动物的特点，keen的dog，green的bird，clean的frog，以及mean的dragon。
对白充满韵律的同时，还使用了丰富的动词和拟声词，例如：purr猫咪的咕噜声，grin露齿笑，wail悲叹，bound跳跃，shriek尖啸，croak青蛙呱呱叫，roar吼叫，yowl嚎叫，growl咆哮，drip滴水，squelch嘎吱嘎吱响，stride大踏步走过，splutter急忙说，mutter喃喃自语，clamber爬上。。。
这些词无疑都精准地描写了当时当境的动作或声音。对小朋友们使用英语描述一系列动作时有很大的帮助。
家长甚至可以在为小朋友读完这本绘本后，再发散一些类似的词汇，比如描述笑就有好多种，可以全家一起整理一番英语中描述不同程度的笑的词汇都有哪些呢？
